How to Practice Non-Attachment

How can you apply non-attachment practically? Here is a list of 7 ways for your consideration…
1. Focus on the Present. When you are attached to your desire, your mind is in the future. You are worried that whatever you wish for will not come true. However, when you direct your focus to the present, your mind becomes occupied with what can be done right this moment.
2. Give Up The Hows. While you stay focused on the picture of your dream, there is no need to fret over how it is going to happen. Point B, your desired goal, can seem far away from Point A, where you are currently. However, be aware that there can be infinite possibilities between the two points. By not being rigid and staying flexible, you become alert to opportunities that will bring you from point A to B.
3. Refrain From Obsessing Over Numbers. An obsession over numbers can cause you to become attached. If you operate a website, you may just know what I mean. By checking your online traffic or newsletter subscribers repeatedly, you may just find yourself getting hot and bothered from not hitting your targets. Hence, stop being so obsessed over numbers. Refrain from checking your statistics excessively.
4. Adopt The Attitude of Learning. View the manifesting journey as a learning experience. Every challenge that happens is an opportunity for you to learn about getting things in the direction of your desire. Adopting a positive attitude, you are joyful every step of the way. Thus, your happiness is not contingent upon having “arrived” at the destination.
5. Be Okay With Uncertainty. By being attached, you become unwilling to wait for clarity to emerge and events to unfold naturally. Thus, you run the risk of forcing solutions or making a decision prematurely. Non-attachment, on the other hand, accelerates the manifesting process in your favor. Learning to live in uncertainty, you are in a state of awareness. Life becomes exciting in its mystery, possibility and adventure.
6. Practice the Art of Allowing. The Art of Allowing is about allowing people, things and events as they are – without wanting to fix, change or judge anything. It is about using your emotions as a guide towards feeling better and better. Ironically, allowing offers space for transformation to occur. It is when successful manifestations take place.
7. Use Energy Release Methods. Energy releasing methods such as Emotional Freedom Technique and The Sedona Method are excellent in helping with issues of attachment.

What Matters To You

If someone asked you today, “What is your purpose, what is your vision and what are you goals?” --Would you be able to answer those questions?

Most of us spend more time planning what to eat for dinner than we spend time planning for our life.  If we don’t have a vision, then we will create the life we have always known.  If our vision isn’t anchored in our purpose then we go off track.

Our goals are the means by which we reach our vision that is driven by a purpose.  You could simply say it like this:  The vision represents what you want to create with your life.  The goal represents the various aspects of how you are doing it, and the purpose explains why.

Perhaps you might sit down today for just a few minutes and ask yourself, “What really matters to me?  What’s my purpose?  What’s the vision?  What would I create with my life a year from now if it’s grounded and driven by my purpose and then what steps might I take?”

Here's To What Matters To You,

Land of Truth

A certain man believed that the ordinary waking life, as people know it, could not possibly be complete. He sought the real Teacher of the Age. He read many books and joined many circles, and he heard the words and witnessed the deeds of one master after another. He carried out the commands and spiritual exercises which seemed to him to be most attractive.
He became elated with some of his experiences. At other times he was confused; and he had no idea at all of what his stage was, or where and when his search might end.
This man was reviewing his behavior one day when he suddenly found himself near the house of a certain sage of high repute. In the garden of that house, he encountered Khidr, the secret guide who shows the way to truth.
Khidr took him to a place where he saw people in great distress and woe, and he asked who they were. "We are those who did not follow real teachings, who were not true to our undertakings, who revered self-appointed teachers," they said.
Then the man was taken by Khidr to a place where everyone was attractive and full of joy. He asked who they were. "We are those who did not follow the real Signs of the Way," they said.
"But if you have ignored the Signs, how can you be happy?" asked the traveler.
"Because we chose happiness instead of Truth," said the people, "just as those who chose the self-appointed chose also misery."
"But is happiness not the ideal of man?" asked the man.
"The goal of man is Truth. Truth is more than happiness. The man who has Truth can have whatever mood he wishes, or none," they told him. "We have pretended that Truth is happiness, and happiness Truth, and people have believed us, therefore you, too, have until now imagined that happiness must be the same as Truth. But happiness makes you its prisoner, as does woe."
Then the man found himself back in the garden with Khidr beside him.
"I will grant you one desire," said Khidr.
"I wish to know why I have failed in my search and how I can succeed in it," said the man. "You have all but wasted your life," said Khidr, "because you have been a liar. Your lie has been in seeking personal gratification when you could have been seeking Truth."
"And yet I came to the point where I found you," said the man, " and that is something which happens to hardly anyone at all."
"And you met me," said Khidr, "because you had sufficient sincerity to desire Truth for its own sake, just for an instant. It was that sincerity, in that single instant, which made me answer your call."
Now the man felt an overwhelming desire to find Truth, even if he lost himself.
Khidr, however, was starting to walk away, and the man began to run after him.
"You may not follow me," said Khidr, "because I am returning to the ordinary world, the world of lies, for that is where I have to be, if I am to do my work."
And when the man looked around him again, he realized that he was no longer n the garden of the sage, but standing in the Land of Truth

Believing is Seeing.

One of the key concepts to creating wealth is to understand that money is not the goal. That's right, I said, money is not the goal.
Frequently people will tell me that they want to make money. However, I know it is not money they are really after. It is the things that money can buy and the freedom of time to do what they really want. While you may think this is an insignificant difference, it is actually the reason so many people never become wealthy.
Most of us were taught throughout our childhood that the whole point of making money is to sock it away and build our own 'nest egg'. We think of this as a type of insurance against bad fortune, accidents or old age when we can no longer work. The wealthy know that money only works when it is in motion - not when it's sitting in a bank account. You must understand that wealth is an ongoing journey of growth and circulation and if that circulation is stopped, then the flow of money will cease.
While it may seem that there are many roadblocks on your journey to wealth, the only real obstacle is what you believe, think, and feel about money. Most of us were raised with the cliché "Seeing is Believing" which is a skeptical and negative view of life. Still, we hear it our whole lives until it becomes a part of our thought process without our even realizing it. Wealthy people understand that this cliché is exactly backward - you must believe in what you can achieve before you will see it happen in your life. They know that "Believing is Seeing." The only thing that separates a millionaire from you right now is a wealthy mindset and the foundation of that mindset is belief.
Does this mean that the wealthy have some special skill or knowledge? No - but they do possess some key characteristics that help them become wealthy.
The first of these characteristics is a willingness to listen to their own heart. If you could become wealthy by listening to the masses, then the masses would be wealthy and they are not. It is a natural tendency to ask the opinions of those we love or respect. Unfortunately, we listen to their comments and biases not taking into account the results in their own lives. We make a decision to listen based on our emotional attachment rather than by looking at what they have achieved. How can anyone who has not accumulated wealth advise you on how to do it? They can't.
A second characteristic of the wealthy is the ability to act when opportunities present themselves. Opportunity is often imagined to be something that you can't miss or pass up. However, I know from personal experience that opportunity is often only a whisper that comes during some of the most trying times of life. If you read the life stories of very wealthy and successful people, you will frequently find they were fired from jobs, kicked out of school or dealt with significant personal tragedies that other people would view as devastating. Instead, they viewed the challenges as opportunities and prospered.
The wealthy also understand that wealth is an ongoing process. It is not a destination you arrive at one day and then stop. It is also rarely accomplished overnight - although it can occur in a short period of time. However, if you gain wealth before you have gained a wealthy mindset then you are in danger of losing that wealth forever. We have all heard of those that win the lottery only to be near penniless a few years later. Since they were  never taught to think wealthy, they have very little chance of achieving wealth that lasts and ultimately they lose what money they have.
Those with a wealthy mindset do what they love - and make money at it. Often I see individuals who are seeking wealth like it's something outside that they have to search for. In reality, wealth exists within you. You have activities and hobbies that you love and you can make these into your business if you choose to. Those who are successful and create a great deal of wealth do so because they are doing something they love. The money follows and is just a logical result of them realizing their dream. Money is not the dream.
Whether you grow up in the worst circumstance or have every advantage, you have the exact same potential inside of you to create the life you want. No matter how many times you read or hear someone talk about how to become wealthy, your life will never change until you believe that it can - Believing is Seeing.
What if you could suddenly (and dramatically) increase your problem solving and creative thinking ability?
How much more money would you make?
How much easier would life become if you suddenly found answers to questions and problems that used to stop you dead in your tracks?
Would there be any limit to what you could achieve?
And what about finding the complete cure to procrastination?
If you've ever had problems getting motivated, or if procrastination has ever stopped you from getting everything you want, you've really got to read this important email.

Wouldn't it be nice if you never again
heard yourself say, "I'll do it tomorrow"?

One of the saddest statistics I've ever heard is that only about 2% of the people who buy self-improvement and success products ever actually do anything with them.
Instead, they flit from one program to the next, hoping to find that one thing that magically changes their lives.
And even though there are a lot of programs out there that really do work, you have to do a little more than just put it on your shelf.
Face it. Making a significant change in your life, be it ending procrastination, becoming more successful, or breaking a bad habit, takes a high level of awareness, determination, and motivation.

And for most
people, it's not easy!

That's why nearly all New Year’s resolutions fail to outlast the following morning's hangover.
Until now.
I've discovered something that really puts an end to procrastination and all of its related bad habits.
In fact, this (almost magical) technology is the most powerful key to making nearly any personal development or self-improvement program (including mine) infinitely more successful - and easy to implement.
Imagine being able to effortlessly double, triple, or even get ten times the results of everything you do.
Even better, this easy-to-use (and absolutely proven) technology also provides an amazing list of health benefits to you starting the very first time you used it?
Imagine, killing bad habits, creating good new ones, increasing your drive, mental acuity, creativity, and overall performance at the push of a button.
In fact, what I want to share with you has been proven to extend your life... create more happiness... increase inner peace... lower stress levels... increase mental clarity... resolve long-standing emotional problems, including fear, anxiety, depression, anger, and substance abuse... and...

...it's one of the best things
you can do for your brain!

I'm talking about meditation.

Unfortunately, many people don't have
the time (or the patience) to invest the years
of practice required to master the art of meditation.

Wake Up!!!

The other day I was curious about what the top YouTube videos are of all time. Mostly at the top is some combination of Justin Beiber and other popular singers... and a bunch of random videos.
One video title caught my attention:
"Zombie Kid Likes Turtles"
So I watched it. It was a news clip. And was quickly reminded why I don't watch the news.
Most news falls into two categories: Dumb and discouraging.
Dumb is stuff like Zombie Kid Likes Turtles. It's when the filler in the news lacks any useful or emotional substance. It's arguably even an ineffective attempt at bringing some heart into the news.
Calling it dumb isn't a judgment. Dumb news isn't necessarily good or bad. It's dumb because it lacks intelligence, substance, and even humor.
Then there's the "discouraging."
That's all the stuff we "think we have to keep up with" so we can "be prepared."
Bad news. Murders. War. Bad economy. Corruption. Drugs. Natural disasters. Scandals. Affairs. Negative politics.
The list goes on...
And every moment you expose yourself to bad news, you are subconsciously reinforcing pain, negativity, and fear. Your mind subconsciously learns and believes:
"This is how the world is. This is how it works."
Yet that's not entirely true. It is true that is how some of the world operates. In fact, much of the world operates from places of fear, pain, and negativity. That's why we have wars, rape, theft, etc.
But it's not true that is how the world is. Just some people in the world. Even in my recent dark times, I never saw the world as an inherently painful place. Yes I was in pain. No, the world is not inherently painful.
If you keep up with the news (whether it's online, TV, or newspaper), I dare you to go one full week without ever once checking in on the news.
I did this years ago, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Very quickly the quality of my life improved.
Then a few years later, I suddenly fell into a temporary trap of keeping up with the news again. Within a week I felt depressed. Once I realized it was news-related, I dropped the news again and my depression went away.
That was all before I had any ideas about consciousness, spirituality, personal development, etc. I just knew that the news lowered my quality of life. It messed up and confused my heart and mind.
Much of the news serves to make us like zombies.
(or as some people say, "sheeple" ~ sheep-like people who follow blindly)
Most of the media companies in the US are controlled by an elite wealthy few people, often with political ties. The combination of wealth and politics often (not always) influences people and organizations in ways that are not necessarily benevolent or "for the people." Money trails and investigations don't paint a pretty picture of the media nor politicians.
So then why look to the news as an authoritative source for what should go into YOUR subconscious mind?
All you have to do is look at the "Occupy Wall Street" protests going on to see how this can lead us astray. Signs such as:
"Dear 1%. We are the 99%, and we were asleep. Now we've woken up."
Think about that for a moment...
In simple terms, the sign says: "We blindly followed people in positions of authority. We blindly followed the news. Now we're paying the price for our ignorance, and we don't want to do that anymore."
It's great that people are waking up in so many ways... economically, politically, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Still, this is our lives we're talking about. And the news is subconsciously sabotaging our best efforts to transform our lives.
Liberate Your Life... with 1 week of no news whatsoever from any source.
Give it a try.
The world won't end during that time. :)

Wake Up and Stop Wasting Your Life with Useless Worry

by Guy Finley

Key Lesson: There is no greater waste of one's time than worrying over what someone else may or may not feel about you.

We Are Not Alone

No natural need can exist without that which has been created to directly answer it. For instance, a creature couldn't thirst for water if water didn't preexist its need to drink. This feeling of attraction that we have -- whether to take a drink of water or connect with the world above us -- is proof of the existence of two parties. First, is the part of us that feels this draw, and then there is by necessity something acting upon us to create the longing itself. As paradoxical as it may seem, if we are moved to seek the Divine, it's because the Divine is calling us! Let's pause here to see how this celestial need expresses itself through some simple examples that are common to all of us: Where does our longing for someone to love originate? Is it not with the awakening of an internal force urging us to explore and experience the deepest parts of ourselves? When we say -- or feel toward another -- "You complete me," what we're really saying is something like "Through you I've realized parts of myself I wouldn't have known even existed; you have helped introduce me to who I really am."
Perhaps we've a yearning to learn how to paint, write poetry, climb a mountain, or become a chef. We are drawn to that pursuit -- whatever its nature -- for much the same reason we search for a lover. Something in us knows that it is only through this relationship that we will be introduced to -- awakened to -- our own higher possibilities.
C. S. Lewis, the great author, essayist, and Christian apologist, supports this important finding:
All the things that have ever deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it -- tantalizing glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear. But if IT should really become manifest --if there ever came an echo that did not die away but swelled into the sound itself -- you would know it. Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say, "Here at last is the thing I was made for." We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want, the thing we desired before we met our wives or made our friends or chose our work, and which we shall still desire on our deathbeds, when the mind no longer knows wife or friend or work. —The Problem of Pain
The need for whatever it may be that we're drawn to is the yet to be realized presence within us of that very thing to which we are drawn. This means that no matter how distant seems our guiding star, or how isolated we may feel in our journey towards its light, these higher truths we're learning would have us know otherwise; we are not alone....
